Lodging information

We have an agreement with several hotels for the tournament dates. All of them are three or four star hotels and they are located either in Blanes or in the neighbor town of Lloret de Mar (located 6 kms away from Blanes).

All the hotels provide services in the room such as TV, Air Conditioner, own bathroom, as well as swimming pool and in some cases other services such as gym, indoor swimming pool, spa or table games’ rooms, among others.

Fort the companions (relatives and others) the organization has got an agreement with some four star hotels. As long as possible, depending on the availability, the companions will lodge in four star hotels.

Note that three star hotels have tourist tax of 0,50€/night and four star hotels have a tourist tax of 1,00€/night which is not included in our prices and have to be paid at the reception of the hotel at the arrival.

HOTEL ESPLENDID ***

Three star hotel located 300 meters away from Sabanell beach in Blanes and one kilometer away from the village centre. The hotel provides a wide range of services such as various swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), fitness centre, sauna, tennis and squash courts, as well as several bars, restaurant (self service buffet) and 24H reception service. All the rooms are equipped with their own bathroom, TV, telephone, hitting and air conditioned.

HOTEL PALM BEACH ***

Three star hotel located 500 meters away from Fenals beach in Lloret de Mar and one kilometer away from the village centre. Recently renewed, the hotel provides all shorts of services, such as 24H open reception, restaurant (self service buffet), bar, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, table games’ room, TV room, and all bedrooms are equipped with own bathroom, hitting, air conditioned, telephone and TV.

HOTEL GRAN FLAMINGO ****

Four star hotel located in the village centre of Lloret de Mar and 300 meters away from the central beach and seaway promenade. Recently renewed it also provides all sorts of services: 24H reception, restaurant (sel service buffet), bar, outdoor swimming pool, table games’ room, TV room and free WiFi among others.

Which hotel will we stay in?

  • Hotel name will be confirmed for teams about 14 days before the tournament

Where will the meals be served?

  • All meals will be served in the hotel. A varied breakfast buffet, which includes hot and cold dishes, as well as hot and cold drinks. As for lunch and dinner, you can enjoy a wide variety of both hot and cold food from the buffet. Mineral water is included both with lunch and with dinner.

Can I stay in a single room in the hotel?

  • Yes, single room supplement is €15.00 per night in three star hotels and €18.00 in four star hotels.

Can we stay extra nights?

  • Yes, if the whole group stays extra night(s).
  • The price varies depending o the hotel category. Check all the prices on the web both for teams and for family relatives and fans
  • Discounts for children also apply for extra nights in the hotel.

Can the parents and fans stay at the same hotel?

  • Yes. Persons accompanying the teams may stay at the same hotel under request. If not requested all the compannions will be lodged in one of the 4 star hotels we have an agreement with.
  • Price is same for family relatives and fans, discount applies in the hotel for children 12 years old and younger in the triple/quadruple room with minimum with two adults.

Are there any discounts for children?

  • Discount applies to child 2-12 years old in a triple/quadruple room with minimum two adults: -50% discount.
  • In the quadruple room (minimum two adults) both children 2-12 years old will get -50% discount.
  • No discounts in twin/double room. Additionally, child under 2 years is free in any room (baby cot).

Tournament rules

FIBA rules will apply in all games, with the following exceptions:

  • The first three periods will last 12 minutes and the clock will NOT be stopped. In the free throws the clock will not be stopped either. The clock will only be stopped because of a cause of force majeure and when the referee indicates so. In the fourth period, the clock will not be stopped during the first 10 minutes and during the last 2 minutes the clock will run as in FIBA rules.
  • Rest time between the first and the second period and the third and fourth period will last one minute. And rest time between the second and the third period will last three minutes.
  • Every team has the right to call a time out during the first two periods. And another time out during the third period and the first 10 minutes of the fourth period. During the last two minutes (FIBA clock) of the fourth period every team may call another time out.
  • In cas the game ends in a draw, the overtime will be played under FIBA rules and FIBA clock. The first team to score 3 points will be the winner.

***In case the organization considers so, because of schedule reasons, the games length may be reduced to four periods of 10 minutes (non stopped clock), except for the last two minutes of the fourth period (FIBA clock)***

Game schedule and Competition system

Game schedule and the competition system will be published and sent to the teams two weeks before the start of the tournament. After the registration deadline the tournament’s organization will make the competition system for each category and the game schedule according to two criterias: The number of teams registered in the category and the competitve level of the teams.

Results & Information

All the esults will be written down on a board at the entrance hall of the facility (Ciutat Esportiva de Blanes). And by the green court you will find the organization’s control and information point, where all the results can be consulted and any doubts or question there may be can be asked to the organization’s staff.

Competition Committee

In case any exceptional situation occurs, the competition committee, which will consist of four members of the organization, will make the decision it deems appropriate and will be irrevocable.

Warm up

Court acess where the game is going to be played will be allowed to the teams 30 minutes before tip off time. In courts number 1, 4, 5 and 6 teams will be able to warm up by the sides and by the ends of the court, while the previous game still being played. In courts number 2 and 3, the teams will be able to warm up by the corridors of the facility. Before the game, every team will have 10-15 minutes to warm up with balls.

Game times

The tems will have to be at the sport’s facility, at least, half an our before their game’s tip off. Game times are very adjusted, so if a team arrives late to play a game it may jeopardize the smooth running of the tournament. In case a team arrives late to a game, unless it is because of a cause of force majeure , the committee of competition reserves the right to give that game for lost to the team that arrives late for the result of 0-2.

Locker rooms

All teams will have a locker room for their matches. The locker rooms are assigned by the sport’s facility staff. In order to know which locker room has been assigned to your team, the group leader will have to ask for it at the information point/facility’s reception.

Trophy presentation

Trophy presentation will take place right after the final games. The tournament’s organization will appreciate all team’s assistance. Every team will receive a trophy.

Age Control

The age control of all the players will take place before their first match. At this time each player must be present and show proof of identity (passport or id-card) and age. Any player who is not able to present his document can not participate in the tournament. IMPORTANT NOTE: If a player, who is not properly registered plays in a match, the team automatically loses the match 0-99.

Teams Behaviour

Any team behaving badly during the competition (protests about referee’s decisions, clashes with rivals or with the organization) can be expelled from the tournament. Team leaders (coaches) will be responsible for the attitude and behaviour of their players towards referees, opponents, public, organisation and facilities.

Insurance

All Clubs must have their players insured both on and off the field. Teams are reminded it is their responsibility to ensure players have their European Health Cards and private insurance details with them.

Tournament will not assume responsibility in case of theft or damage to property, injuries or other actions of the public authorities or organization transport due to strikes.

Clubs are responsible for the participants at the tournament as they are the ones who have registered stating that all the players are physically able for the event. Tournament is not responsible for the damages that the participants cause to themselves or to other participants during the competition.

Registration & team information

When is the deadline for the registration?

  • 01/03/2019

Please note that most age classes fill up before the registration deadline, so please register and confirm with payment as early as possible.

How do we register our team?

To register your team for the tournament, please fill out the online registration form. After submitting the online form you will receive the instructions how to pay the first payment. Instructions will be sent to your e-mail.

What is the first payment?

To confirm your registration, we require a first payment of €600 per team. It includes team registration fee €199 + a deposit €401. Deposit will be deducted from the final payment.

What happens after we have paid the first payment?

After we have received the first payment, you will be sent an e-mail confirming your registration. After that, your team has the right to participate in the tournament.

Transport

Tournament buses to matches

Each team will have designated times when the bus will pick them up from the hotel, about 1h before your first match and take back to the hotel after each game. You will receive bus times about 1 week before the tournament starts.

Which airport should we arrive at?

Barcelona (BCN) or Girona-Costa Brava airport (GRO) are the two nearest airports from the tournament location.

Transfers from the airports to the hotel or the tournament’s venue, depending on the time of arrival and the first scheduled game, and back to the airport after the tournament, are on behalf of each participating team. The tournament’s organization can arrange your transfers to the airport under request to info@basketballcupblanes.com.

Accommodation and meals

Hotel

To be able to participate in the tournament, all the teams have to stay in the tournament hotel. Please note that hotel cannot take bookings directly from teams.

Hotel check-in

Please bring passport or id card photocopy for each person, to speed up the check-in procedure in the hotel.

Meals

All the meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be served in the hotel buffet style, mineral water is included. All other drinks will be at extra cost. All teams will have lunch in the hotel. If you have matches both in the morning and in the evening, the bus will take you to have lunch in the hotel.

Hotel rules and regulations

Hotel rules and regulations must be strictly followed.

Guests shall behave appropriately and with discretion at all times, respectful of the hotel environment as well as other guests.

What is the first payment?

To confirm your registration, we require the first payment of €600 per team. It includes team registration fee €199 + a deposit €401. Deposit will be deducted from the final payment.

What happens after we have paid the first payment?

Yuu receive the confirmation of your team registration by email and it entitles your team to participate in the tournament.

When is the deadline for final payment?

You will receive the final invoice about 6 weeks before the tournament starts. The final invoice will be due 4 weeks before the tournament starts.

What happens if we cancel?

The first payment (€600) is non-refundable, so if you cancel your participation we cannot give you a refund.
Participation fees:

  • Cancellation 30 days before tournament – cancellation fee 0% of total cost per person.
  • Cancellation between 15-30 days before tournament – cancellation fee 50% of total cost per person.
  • Cancellation less than 15 days before tournament – cancellation fee 100% of total cost per person.
